Franz Albertini expects a high demand for job placement events in the coming years. As the director of Workforce Development Enrollment and Retention at 91制片, he sees opportunity.
鈥淲e really need to make sure students are getting placed,鈥 he said.
That next opportunity will come April 22 as the College is holding a job fair from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center at 600 Butler Farm Rd. in Hampton.
The event is open to the public and not just for 91制片 students. It is for those looking to hire and those looking for employment in healthcare, information technology, trades and manufacturing, and transportation (CDL). It covers full-time and part-time positions.
鈥淲e have invited employers that have shared with us that they have opportunities, whether it鈥檚 internships, apprenticeships, full-time, part-time, whatever the case may be,鈥 Albertini said. 鈥淪tudents should come and take advantage of it.鈥
91制片 Workforce Development used to hold two events a year, one in the spring and one in the fall, but that stopped with covid. It resumed in fall 2025, and Albertini wants to resume the twice-a-year schedule.
He expects to have 30 employers on hand and close to 100 jobseekers.
鈥淲e would love to be able to continue working with these employers as well as place students in positions,鈥 he said.
Deadline for employers to sign up is April 15. Jobseekers can show up that day, but registration is preferred. Jobs-seekers should dress for success and bring a current resume. For more information, call 757-825-4070. There is no fee for the businesses or the attendees.
